Friction is a force that makes an object slow down when it rubs against another object. Friction also causes heat.

 

Try rubbing your hands together. The rubbing is causing friction and heat.

 

 

 

Our experiment to test friction: We had three different surfaces. The rougher the surface the more friction there was and our cars did not go as far or as fast.
